BLACK JACK IS BULLSHIT

Ok, I'm a gambler, I've spent quite a great deal of time in casinos. After finding myself deep in the black jack hole, I figured maybe it was just my luck, so I kept playing figuring I had to have at least one good day. It. Never. Happened. Isn't it weird that the loser's list has a high amount more than 5 times that of the greatest winner? Also, I played for twenty minutes and busted every single time I hit on 12. Do you know what the odds of that happening are? May I also point out that 9 times out of 10 when you hit on a hand that involves an ace, you pull one of the 10 point cards, essentially leaving you with the same amount of points you had before. So if the game isn't rigged, it's fucked up somehow. And Minion's quest to break even, is officially over.

I know exactly what you mean. I always win at first and then I lose it all again and more. I gave up playing that stupid game, nearly the same it's with hi-lo, even though this is better than blackjack.

Hmm odds of you breaking when you hit on 12 are (approximately) 15/50 or a little bit under 1/4 so, yeah 3 out of every 4 times if you only draw a single card you should not bust the hand. The odds of you winning and unrigged blackjack and you playing the optimal strategy should be about 45% (i.e. you loes slightly more games than you win, of course, the house needs tohave an advantage).
I've found the BlackJack card drawingas a little strange I could swear they are not as random as they should be, of course it could be luck but it all depends what routines are used for automatic a card draw and if those are based on statistically biast generators such as one that depends on the computer's clock to generate random numbers (that are not as random as we'd like) or may be the sys admin is just mean and is lauging at us when we lose <grin>

Yeah it seems that only certain people have luck with it. I'm not one of them.

ah yes, I'd just be a hopeless gambler I know that much Lol yeah .. I hear it's all about strategy, not that I know of any. I don't think so anyway

Rdfreak you're not the only hopeless gambler, I join you there.

hmm, doesn't it strike anybody else as being tiny weeny bit strange that the only person posting saying that they do well at blackjack is a comunity leeder? *grin*. apparently the stratagy is to sleep with chris N then is that right maddog? he he

I agree with everything you said Minion. It really does drive me crazy that the odds are soooo far in the computer's favor. In addition to the things you pointed out, I have had one other problem. When you get black jack on the first hand, you are supposed to get 1.5 times the number of points you bet. I always bet 10000 points so should get 15000 when I get black jack on the first draw. But sometimes I don't, and I don't know why that is. The game is definitely flawed. I prefer hi-lo for trying to gain points because I have much much better luck there.

hmm maybe I should try that. <looks for chris> oh chris...lol j/k

I too suck at black jack. I played it once betting 20 points and lost. LOL my game for quick points is hi/lo.

Post 14 by Flidais (WISEST IS SHE WHO KNOWS THAT SHE DOES NOT KNOW) on Wednesday, 20-Apr-2005 19:48:30

I agree about hi-lo but they don't got stats for that. <waves to admins> we could use some hi-lo stats

Post 15 by Inesle1987 (Account disabled) on Thursday, 21-Apr-2005 12:30:53

Hi-lo is a little better but still not a real good game. Of course I prefer playing that but it's not the best.

Minion, nice analysis of Blackjack. lol As for High-Low, I'll have to check, but I don't think we keep stats for that. Might be interesting to add in though. And as for the sleeping with Chris N comment, I pleed the 5th.

I think the stats for Hi-Lo would be interesting to look at.

rotfl chris. isn't there any way to get like a different black jack system? One that's more fair?

Here is another problem I have been having with blackjack. I have written to the admin about this but get no reply, and it keeps happening. I always bet 10000 points. When you get 21 immediately, you not only win, but you are supposed to get one and a half times the number of points you bet. So I should get 15000 points when I hit 21 with the first hand. But sometimes, and it has happened twice today, the game treats me as if I lost the hand and takes away 10000 points.
